    Affordable German Quality & Built to Last

    U_7I researched many Safety razors before purchasing this Merkur 23C. I purchased a safety razor because quality disposable razors were getting way to expensive; I'm retired and am watching my expenses more carefully now. The Merkur 23C Long Handle exudes QUALITY! I have used it for over a year now, and its fit and finish is perfect; the mechanism that holds the blade in place is as tight as the day I took it out of the box. The razor has a chrome finish, which should resist rust. The razor feels good in the hand when shaving, it has the right amount of weight for me, and provides a very non-agressive angle for shaving; I have NEVER knicked myself shaving with this razor, even when using notoriously sharp Feather blades.     Not the large Merkur Handled Safety Razor

    I purchased this razor as a replacement for the Merkur Long and large handle razor that I damaged except for the handle. (So I knew what this should have been). My desired item is no longer available on Amazon but on eBay this was described as the replacement with the handle for folks with large hands and the model#. I fortunately still have the handle and the new head is the same as the old so I'm back in business. I also have a similar item with the handle like my new razor but this is not the larger original Merkur item that is difficult to find.

    Excellent for newbs in wet shaving

    I love this model because it has a long handle, I use a persona or feather blade and it’s not super aggresive, it’s mild. It delivers a very close shave and you save $ with the blades. Great quality and very easy to load blades and it sits very secure, blade does not move at all. Excellent shaving!

    Merkur 23c razor good choice

    The razor has a very nice finish and it is well made.I`ve only had a chance to shave with it using the blade that came with it.The long handle is perfect for the way I shave.To me it is very mild and I had to make several passes and some touch ,Ma be a different blade will change that,we`ll see.Over all I would say it`s a good razor for a new shaver

    A classic

    One of the best double-edged safety razors currently made. Well machined. It could outlast you. Rinses cleanly and easy to clean. Probably a good idea to lubricate the screw that attaches the blade holder to the handle if you aren't too handy with pliers and a towel while replacing blades, but these give a great shave and a wide selection of blades can be found online.
