Memories are always a good body
This IS a good mad-cap comedy This was a type of comedy in the sixties. The king of mad-cap was It's a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad, World. But getting back to this.... I remember watching this movie when I was a kid. It was always on the Sunday afternoon theater on local t.v. It was a fifth generation quality film copy, and I was young. There were elements of this movie which were , let's say- not Oscar material, but a fun movie to just have a mindless chill. Alright, none of the bodies looked real, The movie has to have the characters really dumb down to advance the plot, and only if you knew of Sid Caesar, then you would know he was really downplaying his acting. But I was just a kid when watching this movie. I did remember knowing that that was Richard Pryor (without his 'stache) playing ... And I remembered the beautiful widow with that killing body. If I had to say anything negative about the movie, it would be the mother character; she was annoying, but needed in the plot. She reminded me of the mother character in the movie version of Bye Bye Birdie. But as far as dumb down films, this was a lot better than movies like the Weekend at Bernie's (another dead body comedy). Watching this movie as an adult, not only brought back pleasant memories, but now I was able to understand the story ....You know the body in question is never seen. this movie should have been called The Busy Bodies [after you watch it , you'll know what I mean]. So now I have this memory in my DVD collection along with the same type movie: What's so bad about feeling good (George Peppard & Mary Tyler Moore) My next quest is to find one of the other William Castle films, Zotz, and a Patty Duke Movie: Billie. That Sunday afternoon movie program must had made an impression on me. I enjoyed the memories of these B (or C) movies and now I'm paying to find these movies.....and I love it!! Check out the Busy Body, it's a cool rump into the sixties.
