Giants: Citizen Kabuto is a FPS/3rd person and later a RTS game, that was years ahead of it's time when it was released for the PS2 and PC in 2001. The game starts out as a FPS shooter that you can change to 3rd person on the fly during gameplay. It starts off slowly so you can get your bearings in the world of Giants, and plays out on a massive meteor that's inhabited by some very quirky races. You start out as one of the British sounding soft skinned aliens (Mecc's) that wear mechanized suits to survive the trials of space. The humor is dry, but it has a morbid/dark charm that's very fun. You will start off doing simple varied missions as the Mecc's and then, (no spoilers) will switch it up to keep the gameplay fresh and offer varied experiences. The game is very rewarding and nonstop fun once you dig into and embrace the visuals and different play styles. The game transitions from 1st/3rd person gameplay to a simple but challenging RTS variation complete with some light resource gathering. It's very entertaining and varied and one of the few games that I actually finished and then played through again. I would recommend getting this for the PC for the slight increase in graphics quality and maneuverability, but the PS2 is a wonderful port too. Playing it on the PS2 also means that everything will work out of the box, unlike todays PC's which can be a hassle at times to run older games without knowledge of how to screw around with settings and compatibility modes. I still recommend this game to people who are looking for something a little different and quirky, that will ensure some good laughs. It also had a good sequel and I hope that this world of characters are re-visited in the future for a 3rd release. The pics are from of/from the Mecc's. There's a lot more to this game than the images show without spoiling anything. :)Read full review

Giants Citizen Kabuto for the Playstation 2 is about average in gameplay and a little belowe average for graphics luckly it is funny enough that you won't really care all that much.In the game you will start out playing as the Meccaryns the funniest race you will play as they use guns to fight and the Meccaryns are the only race that you can have teammates move along with you so they are the most fun to play as then you move on to playing as the one of the Sea Reapers that uses magic to fight and can move fast by jumping across the island then onto the last race the Kabuto I think it's called. The first 2 races you play as basicly have to build up a base by saving another race called Smarties that'll build the base that helps you out somewhat fighting but the game doesn't let you choose what you want built it pretty much makes you go along with and automatic build system then there's the Kabuto that pretty much is a Giant that you can control making him run around making waves on the ground to beat up the enemies and eating the enemies to regain it's health. Most of the Movement in the game is on a few islands at a time but for the most part you can go where you want. The game is Good enough that you will enjoy it alot when you play it through the first time and maybe a second time with the cheat codes for it but after you have heard the jokes and seen all the funny parts you proboly won't want to play it again unless you have nothing else to do but it's worth playing the first time.Read full review
I loved this game. I purchased it several years ago on the PC. and i wanted to reinstall it and play it again. Later finding out that it isn't compatible with Vista i was disappointed. i found out they made a PS2 version and purchased it. it's just like the PC game (surprisingly) and a really good port from PC. it is very funny. and i play it over and over again.
the game was really good worth every penny. alot of the cut scences were really funny. poor timmy he died. then went to hell. and yes i beat it in about two days.
