As the first book in a trilogy compiling the history of the Yorktown Class of aircraft carriers, USS Yorktown (CV-5) is absolutely fantastic! Basically the entire book is a feast for the eyes in photographs. Some "confidential" and "not to be published publicly," during construction and throughout WWII is awesome. Seeing her built side-by-side next to her sister ship, USS Enterprise (CV-6) reminded me of photographs of RMS Olympic and RMS Titanic under construction. She served her nation proudly. Sad to have lost her in battle. The companion volumes in the "Legends in Warfare Naval" trilogy: USS Enterprise (CV-6) and USS Hornet (CV-8) are must haves too!
