Although I have Gene and Trent dolls I bought this book for my ABJ Orientdoll Tae, he's about the same size, and because this book has boy clothes. The great parts are the shoes and wig making parts, what irks me is having to enlarge the patterns before you can use them. If the people at the copy store are no help and your scanner settings aren't spot on you're in for a tough time. I printed out a shirt back as a test piece and printed at least five before I figured out what settings to use with my system. After spending the better part of a day scanning and printing I would have gladly spent more on a bigger book with full sized patterns, some pieces are repeats, the same shirt appears several times, or even a second volume. Plenty of other pattern books offer fold out pages with full sized patterns.Read full review
I enjoy designing dolls and doll clothing. I first checked this book out at the local library. I liked the periods doll clothing it showed so much that I decided to buy the book for myself. So--I went to ebay- typed in the title and there it was for sale-"Buy It Now", so I did. The book has easy to read instructions and patterns. The photos are a great reference. All around a very good book for anyone who likes to design their own doll clothing.
This book has been thoughtfully written with interesting historical and film references for each costume. This makes it interesting to read even if you don't want to use the patterns. There are suggestions for using a pattern to create different looks. There are many photos to show how to put the pattern together in a step by step way.
great patterns for high quality fashion dolls

I bought this book thinking I could adapt some of the patterns for Barbie but now am not so sure. The patterns are ok, but author doesn't specify what fits what kind of doll. The only one I easily recognize is Gene, so...but not a bad buy if you don't pay too much.
