I saw an article using a larger keep alive but “surgery” was required to fit that one in the tender. When I saw this one was a much smaller keep alive I decided to give it a try. It fit in the Bachmann 2-6-0 small steam engine with its sound value decoder by Soundtraxx without any problem. A call to George at Soundtraxx and he emailed a picture of where on the sound value decoder True that it doesn’t have as much capacitor energy as therefore less run time... about 5-7 seconds roughly but that’s more than enough to get it over long unpowered frogs and most grime on the rails. These things are great. Small, usually smaller than most decoders and give a good 5-8 sec of running with sound and full motor. Highly recommend these little guys. They are all i use for small spaces.
