The best thing Chris Squires ever did was ditch Ian Brown and the Stones Roses. Launching himself away from the musical vomit that was being spawned from Manchester at the time, Squires became a semi-reclusive only ever appearing again for this one album, Do It Yourself. And we should be glad he did! If you have not heard this CD, you really should buy it. Squires gives himself the stage to demonstrate his considerable talents on the guitar, with a quirky blues/rock/pop edge to his riffs. The highlights of the CD include the opening track, Want you to Know, to the final haunting chorus of Hello. If you loved the Stone Roses... get some music taste and buy this CD. If you didn't like the Stone Roses... buy this CD.
Squire's continuous work of The Stone Roses Second Coming. He really shreds it in this album. If you like Squire style, go for it.
