Elton and Bernie at the top of their game with themes of loneliness, punkers, celebrity, and surprisingly, references to lesbianism (in the 70s!) and prostitution. All mixed into some of the best pop hooks ever created. And of course, that voice. Elton's unique phrasing and smooth tenor with its incredible range delivers on every song. This is a review of the Super Audio CD (SACD) 30th anniversary version of the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album (the multichannel experience). I already had this one but recently, for no reason, the disk 1 stopped playing. I liked so much this version that after many months of searching I found this option. Most of SACD's from Elton John sound amazing, the clearness of each instument, the depth of the surround mix, it all combines to make an extraordinare experience, just imagine complementing that with the genious of "Funeral for a Friend", "Candle in the Wind", "Benny and the Jets" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".
