    Return To His Roots (Cassette)

    Most people agree: Holy Wood is about returning to the roots of the band Marilyn Manson. Holy Wood is a fairly decent blend of what was portrayed in Antichrist Superstar, mixed with the lighter glamour of Mechanical Animals. Holy Wood is not as harsh and dark as Antichrist, but definitely shades darker and quite a bit more serious than Animals. Once you're past the blasphemous cover art, you'll delve into the core of the album itself, finding the fine-tuned perfection of each song that is typical Manson style. Most every track has something a little different than what you've heard out of the group before, but at the same time, I found that many of the songs lacked the special qualities, such as lyrical content found on both previous albums. Holy Wood just doesn't have the lyrical quality ...
