I was not aware that the item is out of warranty. In fact, it proved to be unused but 7 years old, according to Southwire support. However, it is still an incredibly versatile meter and a terrific value at this price. There seems to be a software glitch in keeping the date & time settings in non-volitile memory, but otherwise there are features I have not seen in other meters. One example is the measurement of frequency AND period. The data logging features are also advanced and very useful

Great meter for the money. For anyone who purchased one of these - you can fix the case with a microfiber cloth and a bit of goo gone. Then use a different microfiber with some isopropyl to remove the oily residue. No more stickiness and not oily.

Not really pleased
Nice build quality but it's unfinished product. The software has a lot of bugs. And it's weird, but all 3 devices i used had their own, different, software issues. Same firmware. Probes are cheap and do not make good contact. Definitely it's not worth asked $200. Maybe for $50 I'd give it a try but not more.

Nice with a few quirks.
Nice bright color display, battery life suffers as a result, charging is a little clunky as have to use a proprietary cable and turd the meter off while charging. Make sure to change the internal button cell battery if the time display starts to refuse to hold setting.
