Jeanette's part in this film was a little bit too "clunky" for my liking, but she performed it very well. Nelson Eddy does an exceptional portrayal of Ramerez, the bandit, and the part where he robs Jeanette's stagecoach is one of my favorite scenes. Also impressive is where Eddy runs and makes a flying leap on a horse and races out of a building! The 10 minute Mariachi number is really outstanding. Of course, Nelson's and Jeanette's singing is beautiful as always. Nelson is not part of the supporting cast, but the Co-Star of the movie. Even though this isn't the best storyline, the more you watch the movie, the better you like it!
Jeanette is irresistable as the "Girl". She has the western outfit, the drawl, an excellent supporting cast, and great music. She cannot be equaled. Buddy Ebson is excellent in his supporting role.
The two singing in any story is fine with me. Great music, but a fair story. Non-color does not do justice to Jeanette. I recommend this movie to anyone. Bill
