About this product

Product Information

EA Games' Medal of Honor series once again deploys first-person shooter fans to some of the most heated battles of World War II, in European Assault. Players take command of a squad of specialist operatives and engage in critical missions in the European Theater. As they move through the storyline, players become acquainted with powerful, recurring characters that represent the most ruthless officers to ever serve in Hitler's armed forces. Actions taken in the field affect future missions, and the success of Allied effort overall.

The single player campaign has gamers taking the role of U.S. Army Lieutenant William Holt, who has the honor of being chosen as the first field agent to serve under the newly formed Office of Strategic Services. Holt embarks on a number of secretive, commando-style missions, such as gathering intelligence about Nazi troop movements and sabotaging the Axis' development of atomic weapons. In addition to these clandestine operations, Lieutenant Holt faces plenty of historical shooter action, as his missions lead him to vital engagements across Europe, including Stalingrad and the Battle of the Bulge.

Like earlier games in the series, European Assault boosts detailed historical accuracy in both its mission locations and available equipment. The storyline of European Assault was written by accomplished screenplay author and movie director John Milius, who known for his creative contributions to films such as Dirty Harry, Jaws, and Apocalypse Now. The counsel of other experts was recruited as well, including Captain Dale Dye, USMC (ret.), who has served as the series' Military Technical Advisor since it launched in 1999. Once again, developers also consulted with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

  • Overall Good Game

This is an overall good game but the multiplayer on it is definately not as good as the other medal of honors before it. The game is easy to beat for the experienced gamer and there aren't many characters to choose from in multiplayer. The one player is good, you can hide behind objects or walls and look out to fire from a safe spot. There is also adrenaline which gives you unlimited ammo and invincibilty for a while. You have three people to help you almost every level. They don't help much but make the game a little more challenging when you try to keep them alive to be rewarded with more medical packs at the end of a level. If you love Medal of Honor games and are ecstastic about them then go ahead buy this game. But if this is your first time playing medal of honor or are looking for ...

  • Hard to get game because the company stopped making it!

A friend lent me their copy and I was hooked. I wanted a copy for myself but found out the company stopped making it for my system. So I wanted a copy before they were all snatched up. Its a fun game with a historical basis, a good interactive teaching tool. It is based on actual events and that made it all the more realistic. As for gameplay, it plays well in one player mode. Two or more players and it becomes a bit confusing. Overall, it is a very good game, based in actual events during World War II (missions are over embellished, but realism is there), and is a good tool to teach young teens about history and the realities of war. A++++++++++ Game. A must have for any first person shooter fans.

  • Spot-on...The best of the Medal of Honor series!...Excellent game.

Great game! And very underrated. This was EA's best offering with the Medal of Honor series. The music is incredible, the opening theme is like a hollywood orchestral piece for the opening credits of an epic war film. The graphics are spectacular for a sixth generation game, very smooth, just as the controls and gameplay, I particularly like the way you are able to peek from behind cover just by holding the the aim button, I couldn't understand why infinity ward and treyarch hadn't adopted this when I fisrt played call of duty. The multiplayer is good, but it lacked online multiplayer as its predecessor Rising Sun had, which was a lot of fun. Excellent game, its a shame EA couldn't keep up the momentum, they made one or two decent Medal of Honor games after this, but it was pretty much ...

  • Great game to keep you coming back for more...

My kids love this game. It is definitely exciting and keeps them on the edge of their seat. I bought this game for my oldest sons birthday and he absolutely loves it. Not only does he love it, but my daughters and my youngest son loves it as well. There is very little to no blood and guts or anything like that. There are a few mild bad words, but nothing our kids haven't heard I am sure. I was skeptical about buying the game at first, but I watched them play the game and it is alot of fun and suitable enough for their ages.

  • Great Game!!!

This is a very fun game. It has excellent graphics and extremely well game play!!!!! If you like Medal of Honor Games or any war game for that matter this is a must buy!!!!! The only thing complaint i have about it is that it doesn't have a co-op mode, it only has multiplayer. But, besides that i don't have a single regret.
