    Surprisingly Stable and Lightweight

    I got one of these with a tripod and assumed that the physics of it wouldn't provide stability but my assumptions were proven wrong. It's extremely stable and well designed. It's quite light in weight, too. I just recently bought a second one for a mid-size CF pod and it's a perfect match and I can share the accumulated quick release plates that I now have. I also own the big brother, G1576M and use it on 4X5 duties with great success.

    Light, Strong, Quick Set-Up

    Gitzo has a fine reputation for quality designs and manufacture. It’s well deserved. This model provides a very secure quick release plate and sets up quickly. Made of magnesium, it’s a perfect complement to a carbon fiber tripod. Together, little weight, yet capable of handling even a Hasselblad with a 250mm Zeiss lens.
