  • Great movie, slight technical issue.

Great movie with impressive special effects. Wonderful accompanying music selections. Only defect: at the end of the movie, a defect in the DVD makes the player end the movie proper (just the last minute at most and end credits) and return to main menu. I haven't tried it yet on a different DVD player. Still worth the purchase.

  • Must see this First Ever Academy Award Winner

Realize how old this is. The 1927 First Academy Award Winner for Best Picture. Thanks to the Academy and UCLA (I think) this was digitally corrected, remastered to persevere this for us all. We have only watched it with the orchestra accompaniment which really added to the film. Anxious to see it with the Organ accompaniment. A story full of romance, tragedies of war, tears and laughter. Story holds up today.

  • Lots of wings to see!

For 1927 and the first Best Oscar picture, it was actually very entertaining and left me in awe on how they were able to film this then. The DVD case said the aerial airplane battles sequences were some of the best in motion pictures ever. There is a very interesting feature which you can watch after the movie about the filming of it and almost as good as the picture itself!

  • 2 WW1 pilots fly missions with hopes of returning to their lives back home.

The first Academy award winning movie from 1927. It is a love story set in WW1. It is a silent movie with subtitles. I would recommend this movie.
