    Even Carradine couldn't save it

David Carradine is my all time favorite actor, because of him this movie was watchable. The time he was one the screen was good. I enjoy campy movies but this one was poorly written, scored and over acted. It's basically cowboy vampires. Other than David it was really bad.

  • Sundown, The Vampire in Retrospect

You may thing the vampire in retreat as a military force fleeing battle, but this time it's more like a vacation. I'm sure you know the story; in an effort to reform themselves from being bloodthirsty monsters, the Vampires alienate themselves to a sunny desert town and manufacture a synthetic blood product. But a counter revolution is brewing. Most notable are performances by David Carradine and Bruce Campbell, as the Count and Van Helsing respectfully. Many other great actors grace the silver screen. The Director, Anthony Hickox, also made Waxwork one and two, which I have collected. Hickox has gone on to make well respected films, but I do miss the wit and comedy of his early works. Nothing like a killer script. All in all, a fantastic film, for what it is, a comedy with horror ...

  • Bruce is Not the only attraction in this vamp flick!

I love Bruce Campbell,as so much of us do. But this movie is so bad it is terrific!! David Carridine as the "good guy", Max Caulfield as the villian. Some easily spotted TV veterans. And the plot...my gods...a plot you have not seen before. It turns from a cheesey (the good kind of cheese with the rubber bats flapping on strings) vamp movie to a sort of western, horses and all. Bruce, as always, eats up the scenery. And you gotta love him in all his roles; he brings a whole new kind of weird to anything he touches. Look, don't pay a bunch for it, but...if you can get it reasonably, go for it. You will not regret it. It is beyond unique. And we get Bruce too!!

  • A must see for Bruce Campbell fans.

This is a movie i have enjoyed since i first saw it on cable some years ago. It's a cool story about modern vampires looking for a new way of life while dealing with those among them that sees this endevour as a betrayel of thier true vampire nature. I love how they were able to mix the horrer of a vampire flick with comedy as only bruce campbell can provide. Also, look for Debra Forman as the sweetest lil vamp you could ever hope to meet. It's a fun ride folks, enjoy.

  • Brilliant 80's Vampire comedy drama

Brilliant 80's Vampire comedy drama. Great (pre fruity Hollywood) cast, alternate setting for the genre. Bruce Campbell's take on Van Helsing's relative is Ash level performance. Absolutely a MUST.
