    Seagate 7200.12 series

    I have built more than 200 computers over the last few years, and I have upgraded many more computers over the same time period. I often use Seagate 7200.12 series hard drives as boot drives, especially when upgrading an older PC. They are very fast for a spinning hard drive, and I have found them to be very reliable. Personally, I always upgrade the firmware to CC49 when I get used drives with the older firmware. I am a believer in the 7200.12!

    Perfect for my purpose

    I re-purpose and re-home old PC's as a pay it forward kind of thing, and $7 each for SATA 160GB drives is spectacular regardless of the not so perfect qualities of this drive, it is perfectly functional! Just not "Quiet" "Fast"(Considering alternatives, but good in it's class) or the most "Reliable"(Though better than some alternatives)... again $7 to my door in great packaging? I'll take a dozen!
