    Sounds very good, easy to use

    Purchased after 10+ year old model went belly up. Newer model is much nicer looking, and sounds great. Added feature is a weather channel. Time set button is on right side, so it took a few minutes to find it to set the clock. . Remote was not included, but not needed by "she who must be obeyed." . Sony support site has downloadable manual.

    It's a nice addition to the kitchen

    These Sony under the cabinet radio / cd players are great. I have this model and the ICF-543RM model and the only thing that lacks on this ICF-553RM model is the Mega Bass is not as pronounced as the ICF-543RM model, don't know why, they are equipped with all the same features, the ICF-543RM just sounds better in Mega Bass. Either way these are a convenient way to add music. news, and weather reporting with ease. Makes the counter and cabinets look warm.

    A Radio/CD player that turns a kitchen into a concert hall

    The ICF-CD553RM SONY under kitchen-cabinet CD player has all the options to make a more enjoyable place to do chores. It's well-built, too. The only tricky part is measuring the holes accurately to install the unit under your cabinet. Okay, some folks are handy with tools. I'm not; but I still managed to install it. A fun project and worth the effort.

    Pretty good

    Works better than expected. Picks up AM stations fairly well. It was important that we were able to listen to AM stations. Not bad for an older used radio. Sound quality is not the best but it’s not bad.
