The final season of THE GOLDEN GIRLS features the quartet of lovely ladies that audiences adore. Delightfully ditzy Rose (Betty White), lascivious Blanche (Rue McClanahan), snarky Dorothy (Bea Arthur), and her frankly hilarious mother Sophia (Estelle Getty) are roommates in Miami, Florida. For seven years, this hilarious sitcom showed that life doesn't end with eligibility for the senior discount. Season seven saw a number of great guest stars, including Leslie Nielsen, Merv Griffin, and Alex Trebek. Nielsen played Blanche's uncle and Dorothy's groom-to-be in the two-part series finale, "One Flew Out of the Cuckoo's Nest." Men come and go in the lives of these women (particularly Blanche), but their enduring friendship is the core of the series.

    The Greatest Sitcom of All Time

    The final season of The Golden Girls - the greatest season of the greatest television comedy ever created. The dynamic among the characters is unrivaled and rarely does a show last for 7 seasons without losing an actor. But these women stayed for the duration, and the creators and network were smart enough to know that when one character leaves (as was the case with Bea Arthur), you don't attempt to maintain the same format. The spin-off did not work, which ultimately proved that the cast needed all of them, and it was just a reminder of how magical this unit of actresses really was. Season 7 is the greatest of them all. There may never be another show like this again - and they just never get old. I've rewatched them more times than I can count, and you will, too. Buy the original set if ...

    Still Funny!

    The dvd's are pretty good, however on couple of the episodes, the magnification of the screen goes in and out. It's annoying but not a deal breaker since it only happend on 2 or 3 episodes for a short bit. Other than that, I love having the whole series of the Golden Girls. They still make us laugh after all these years!
