Initial Satisfaction Now Disappointment
I was very pleased with this arm/wrist rest when I first got it, on March 27. It had a good spongy-firmness ratio. The spandex cover fit well. I was delighted to discover the base was slightly tacky so that the rest wouldn't move about on my desk. However, by April 3, a 1/2" section of the cover had come loose on the long edge facing my keyboard, (and not the edge exposed to the friction from my hand/arm movements). Before finishing my work that day, a 3" section of the cover had come loose. When I picked up the wrist rest to examine it, my hand stuck to the gooey gel that was oozing out onto the edge of the wrist rest's base. I replaced the gel toward the center of the wrist rest and pressed the cover back down onto the edge of the base. I then encircled the defective area with wide ... I have also noticed that the original springy-ness is decreasing: the depression made by my arm resting on the gel does not spring back to its original position for 10 or more minutes. So, I reposition the wrist rest to avoid the low spot and resume typing. The product seems to be losing its elasticity throughout its entire length. All in all, this has been a disappointing product, and for the above reasons, I cannot recommend it.

I once bought an inexpensive gel wrist rest that was absolute heaven. Soft, cushiony, pleasant fabric cover texture - I loved it. Unfortunately, it broke down over time. So seeing a well known namebrand - Fellowes, I thought, "Surely this will be a quality product!". Wrong. It feels like they did NO consumer testing before putting this wrist rest out. Other gel wrist rests I've had have been soft, rounded and spongy with an accommodating give that deforms under the weight of your wrist to cradle them comfortably. But this thing has absolutely NO give, no softness to it. It feels like it's filled with hard rubber, not gel. And adding insult to injury, though the edges are somewhat rounded, because the gel filling is so hard, they actual feel square and kind of dig into your wrist ... But, given how hard the gel is, that's was probably a necessary thing to keep this from feeling like your wrists are sitting atop a 2 x 4. This Fellowes wrist rest feels like an angry Dutch uncle telling you that your wrists have grown too soft and used to comfort over the years and that a hard, sharp, unforgiving, almost wooden-like wrist-rest experience is what will straighten you out. So if you're into the masochism thing, this might be the product for you. As for me, the search continues for that same, soft, gel nirvana I had with the old wrist rest. In the Pros column, the almost-sticky rubber bottom makes for the most slip-proof wrist rest I've ever had. This thing won't budge a millimetre. Which would be awesome if it didn't feel like I was typing with a wooden dowel under my wrists...
