I bought this because I liked last years version and was looking forward to the new pure analog play. So far, I've loved it. The pure analog takes time to get used to and can sometimes seem unresponsive but overall is a nice challenge compared to past versions were you just press circle or square to swing. There is pure analog for pitching, hitting, and throwing during fielding. The pitching is sensitive but entertaining. The hitting is all about timing but again, still a nice challenge to master. The throwing is sensitive and a bit difficult to control the strength of each throw but after some practice it gets easier. For me, the analog is an improvement compared to previous years and if you're bored of the simple game play of before, then this game is a must buy. I gave it a 4/5 simply because the flow of analog is difficult to grasp. I understand this can be turned off, but if you do that, then there's no real difference between this game and the older versions, other than slightly nicer graphics. I do not have a PlayStation Move so as for the game play with that, I don't have a review.Read full review
I recently changed to PS3 from Xbox for the reason to buy this game when it came out. I have a passion for the game of baseball ever since I can remember. I play this game in real life so when i'm not playing it out their on the diamond i have to get my fix some way. This is the most well done, realistic sport games out their. I was playing this game last night and its so real and fundamentally sound that there was even a double cut. Which is something so little, but it shows that they spend a lot of time on the details of the game. The one thing that makes this game the best is that, this may sound funny, but this is a game where you can loose, get your butt kicked! Yes, why would you want to loose, well the reason why i think this is important because for example with 2K baseball i do not think have ever lost to the computer. And if you win all the time winning is not the same. It sounds crazy, but I was very impressed when I got swept by the Astros. So when you think about buying a game, this is the best of the best if you want to spend hours upon days with your eyes glued to that screen.Read full review
Once again SCEA had hit another HR with MLB 11 The Show. The best just keeps getting better. Analog hitting, fielding and pitching has given this series a completely new feel and anyone loving a challenge will get exactly that with analog hitting. Can easily see myself playing this game well until the release of The Show 12. Love the new player vault feature with the ability to import those late season rookie call-ups for us that started our franchise well earlier in the season. Not to mention the addictive feature that is Challenge-of- the week. Received my copy the Friday before release and paid an extra $11 well worth it and would do all over again.
MLB The Show 11 is the quintessential Baseball game, everything a die hard baseball Fan is here. From Franchise, to season career modes, Online Play is also included. With the Road to the Show game mode gives the player the unique view of what its like to play any position on the filed rather than just pitching and hitting. this is a tough game and you get your moneys worth. I cannot recommend it enough.
MLB 11: The Show takes some big strides to improve the gameplay and largely succeeds. Fielding matters now and the new analog controls for pitching and hitting are fun. The lack of major improvements to Franchise and Road to the Show are disappointing, but The Show remains the best baseball game in town. If you've been waiting for someone to take you out to the ballgame, wait no longer. MLB 11: The Show is here.
