Seller Notes: “This is a set of 4 real deal first design Weber 48 IDA carbs with low/early production serial ... “This is a set of 4 real deal first design Weber 48 IDA carbs with low/early production serial numbers. These serial numbered carbs very rarely come up for sale. These carbs just came from the same owner of over 40 years. These were last used on a 1932 Ford Roadster. I bought these carb mounted on the original Moon Small Block Chevy downdraft intake. Being first design 48 IDA carbs, these really deserve to be mounted on a GT-40, Cobra, etc so I removed them from the intake and will sell the intake separately. These carbs are in amazing condition as shown. After being removed from the 32 Ford, these carbs were sent to carb guru Jim Inglese and were fully gone through. They are setup to be used on a Small Block Chevy engine and will likely need some changes for a different engine. That said, the fact that these were gone through by Jim Inglese tells you they are sound units. The cost of the carb rebuild was over $1700 as shown in the picture of the receipt. Good buy for the price.
The kit worked well even though I didn't specify for it being used on a Mazda 12a engine and the two intake gaskets were the wrong size. It's still a good buy.
