Product Information

Ensure your vintage TV or radio is in perfect working order with these Reflector ECH81 triode-heptode vintage tubes. As any audiophile or collector of vintage radios and televisions knows, replacing worn-out vacuum tubes is a fairly common task that is necessary to keep older model electronics functioning properly, and that is exactly what these Reflector ECH81 tubes do. The ECH81 triode-heptode tube was designed for use as a frequency converter, which served as both the oscillator and mixer for AM radio reception. In addition, the ECH81 tube’s heptode serves as the IF amplifier for FM stereo. Originally created by German manufacturer Telefunken in 1952, it wasn’t until the Mullard Radio Valve Company created its first model of the ECH81 in 1953 that this tube became available to the public. The ECH81 tube has two separate valve sections, the triode and the heptode, which share a common, indirectly heated cathode. The upper triode valve is mounted above the heptode mixer, and the triode serves as the oscillator, which feeds a 13-volt sine wave to the lower heptode valve. By replacing your old tube with one of these Reflector ECH81 vintage tubes, you ensure that the frequency converter is functioning as it should, enabling you to get high-quality AM and FM radio or TV reception. The entire tube is encased in a thin glass bulb that contains the two valve sections and the oxide-coated cathode. These Reflector ECH81 vintage tubes are known for their quality construction, which makes them prized among audiophiles for their durability, and among collectors of vintage electronics for their beautiful, elegant appearance. The ECH81 vintage tube features a Noval B9A nine-pin base, and it measures a total of 55 mm high, excluding the base pins, while the glass bulb measures 20 mm in diameter. These tubes are the equivalent or near-equivalent of several other common tube types, including 6AJ8, CV2128, 6U1, X719, 6I1P and 6C12, allowing you to use these Reflector triode-heptode tubes on all vintage electronics that call for any of these tube types. In addition, even though they have nominally different maximum ratings, the ECH81 tubes are virtually identical to ECH83 tubes. These vintage Reflector ECH81 triode-heptode frequency converter tubes can be plugged directly into the tube socket of your favorite television, radio, or console, making them great for either daily use or as a cool, retro collector’s item. Make sure your AM, FM, and VHF reception are crisp and clear with these Reflector ECH81 vintage tubes.

NOS Reflektor tubes are very well made and at these prices they are a real bargain. They are now powering my old Saba Konstanz 7 with no perceivable difference from the original Siemens.
