Reviews
"Complete, beautifully wrought, warm, and surprising as only Susan Wiggs can do. Two colliding worlds, both fraught with complications and prejudice, spun into a graceful, complex story that will make you turn the pages till the very end. I absolutely loved it." -- Kristin Higgins, New York Times bestselling author of Now That You Mention It "A big story of love, loss, and honor. Susan Wiggs just keeps getting better and better." -- Jacquelyn Mitchard, author of The Deep End of the Ocean

Synopsis
#1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Wiggs delivers a riveting story that challenges our deepest-held beliefs... Caught between two worlds, Caleb Stoltz is bound by a deathbed promise to raise his orphaned niece and nephew in Middle Grove, where life revolves around family, farm, faith--and long-held suspicions about outsiders. When disaster strikes, Caleb is thrust into an urban environment of high-tech medicine and the relentless rush of modern life. Dr. Reese Powell is poised to join the medical dynasty of her wealthy, successful parents. Bold, assertive, and quick-thinking, she lives for the addictive rush of saving lives. When a shocking accident brings Caleb Stoltz into her life, Reese is forced to deal with a situation that challenges everything she thinks she knows--and ultimately emboldens her to question her most powerful beliefs. Then one impulsive act brings about a clash of cultures in a tug-of-war that plays out in a courtroom, challenging the very nature of justice and reverberating through generations, straining the fragile threads of faith and family.

The book was exactly as described and arrived quickly. The only problem is a recurring one with this seller and other similar sellers - the book is poorly packaged in a plastic envelope and gets heavily bumped in shipping. I would like to see the books wrapped before shipment, but I understand this can't be done for cost reason. Luckily it isn't an expensive book, and I will continue to purchase basic books from this seller. A+++++

Positive experience but could be better. Item description was accurate but, it was shipped in a simple bag with no carton or any protection. The bag was broken in places and the USPS bent the book like it was a newspaper and ruined what was an excellent looking book. That was clearly the USPS fault but a "Do Not Bend" or carton would help next time. Otherwise accurate description, value, condition and Fast shipping. I'm a returning customer and will keep buying from World of Books
