This VSX 532 is a very good receiver from Pioneer that I purchased to replace my burnt out VSX 522. My old receiver was 6 years old, and I think that either a power surge or lack of proper ventilation did it in. Anyhow, there were a few changes made between the 522 and this 532 to make it a bit more user friendly. Hooking it up is very simple, and the instructions are fairly straightforward. I'm only running 3 speakers off of it (1 center and 2 for surround), so 5.1 channels is plenty for me, even if I want to add 2 more speakers and a subwoofer. Very good power output and each channel can have a different output level assigned to it to really balance everything out. For $199, you can't beat this receiver for the price.

Pioneer was acquired by Onkyo not long ago. I didn't realize that until I looked inside the receiver through the top vents and it was an exact match of an Onkyo I had for less than a year and the power supply went up in smoke. Because I forgot to register the amp Onkyo refused to send me a new power supply at my expense. So far this Pioneer is working fine but if I had known it was an Onkyo with a Pioneer badge, I never would have made the purchase. I knew it would cost more to repair the Onkyo than what is was worth which is why I bought the Pioneer. I did register this reeceiver and hope it doesn't go up in smoke after the warranty runs out. You hear good and bad about every product sold so all I can suggest is do your reasearch and find something in your price range that has the best honest reviews.Read full review

I am a music freak, play a lot of instrument and listen to a lot of music - actually bought this to hook up to the smart TV - stereo system. The sound quality is unreal - I do recommend using the "optic" hook up feature vs HDMI, although both were great. Going to purchase the rest of my equipment - over the next few months and will be going with Pioneer

I love everything about this receiver, except the set up. Very confusing. I wanted to set up using ARC, but couldn't figure it out, so I just used the optics hook up instead, and the instructions are lacking. Great Receiver for the money, and it does everything I want it to do, I just need to figure out the ARC settings. It's hooked up to a LG 60" UHD TV, and a Bose Accoustimass 5 series 5.

It produces fantastic sound - we have Klipsh speakers and sub-woofer - and we now required a blue tooth receiver. I have not yet fully read the instructions so I don't yet know how to set FM stations. But Netflix movies through the product to the television sound excellent.
