    Extraordinary Film.

    Extraordinary story based on real events - Ryan Reynolds gives a solid performance and Helen Mirren - delicious, as always. A part of the Nazi's seizures made vividly egregious. The first few minutes are so gorgeous , they make the entire film worth it!

    DVD Production Problems

    About 25% of the dialogue was in German. They produced the DVD without these sections being automatically translated and subtitled. Therefore the viewer has to physically turn the language subtitles on and off each time the actors spoke in German, or miss large parts of the plot. The DVD is not very well designed, The German sections should have been subtitled for US audiences.

    Justice personified

    Helen Mirren pulls this off spectacularily. Ryan Reynolds quietly and with bold authority takes the bite of WWII's less famous side. Stolen property. More should happen along these lines. Thank GOD, most of my forbears for getting out of Europe, and Russia early, in the 1900's.

    An outstanding true story

    This was based on a true story about a holocaust survivor (Mirren) who hires a young lawyer to help her recover the painting, "Woman In Gold." The painting was of Mirren's aunt and valued at millions of dollars. It had been stolen by the Germans from Mirren's home during WWII. I found the story captivating and have already watched it twice. It did not receive a lot of publicity as it was not done by one of the mainstream Hollywood studios.

    An award-worthy golden movie!

    I find the story interesting and timely. The actors do a top-notch job and bring the story to life. I had heard of the return of the Klimpt but this backstory is filled with villians and, more importantly, heroes. You can "fight City Hall" and should when the principal is simple and pure.
