NetGear media streamer technologies are designed to be used in tandem with Internet connections and other hard drives through a home network connection. As a media center, the NetGear PTV2000 has an HDMI connection and is capable of displaying media that is up to 1080p in video resolution. With both HDMI and AV connections, this digital HD media streamer can display images and video from computers, hard drives, and other media storage locations. The NetGear media streamer weighs only .40 lbs and is small enough to fit easily into almost any home entertainment system. The NetGear PTV2000 does require a system that comes complete with Intel Wireless Display but is compatible with a wide range of screens and media types. This digital HD media streamer is compatible with most media types but does require a computer with an Intel processor to display Blu-ray video through a network. The NetGear media streamer is designed as a media entertainment system for use with various PCs, hard drives, and more through home network connections.

Did not work for my computer
My Dell WiDi couldn't connect to it. It was inexpensive, so worth a try. I now stored in a box with all my other outdated, dead, or useless electronic devices. Ended up buying a quality 35 foot long HDMI cable to connect the Dell in m den to the living room Sony TV. It has a soft outer covering, so it lays flat against the floor wall board and goes around corners well. routed it under a hallway runner carpet and you barley notice it. Cost was $16 an has an excellent picture. Just plug it in to the Dell when needed. My Dell WiDi couldn't connect to it. It was inexpensive, so worth a try. Didn't get to use it, wouldn't work with my setup.
only works with "CERTAIN" intel processors. Before you purchase this, type "intel" into your search box and see if 'intel wireless display' shows up. If your computer doesn't come with WIDI pre-installed this unit will not work. There are no drivers or software that can be downloaded to solve the problem either....you have it or you don't.
