  • Good for the expierenced amatuer, but underpowered for the professional.

Being a former professional photographer from the early eighties to the middle of the nineties, I am comparing this to units back then and applying to film cameras. I have noticed that this camera does a good job at the closer distances works very well. However, the auto focus feature is sometimes unreliable in dimmer lights.I found myself switching to manual focus. In addition, I find the guide number to be more like 80. This would mean a maximum of ten feet at f8 when shooting at iso 100. This would be barely enough power to do group shots of people at the distance needed. It does use batteries fairly quickly. I highly reccommend using rechargeables and bring lots of em. Nicads will give you a better recycle time as well. Compainies such as Armato of New York may still make external ...

  • Vivitar for Sony

While the used flash worked, it functioned perfectly on my Sony alpha, which says something about a flash that does everything I need for wedding reception or spring flowers' fill flash! Finding a TTL flash for Sony is tough but this Vivitar fit the bill, especially when the bill was 1/3 the price (new price) of Sony's top flash. When used on the hot shoe and on the handle mount with remote cable it worked in Auto and manual to make good photos. This purchase was for a used one and I recommend buying a new one next time which I plan on doing.

  • Good product for reasonable money

Pros: high capacity of flash, qualitative enough manufacturing. A sliding curtain. The head rotates in all conceivable and not the conceivable parties. Mode ADI for my chamber Sony. Cons: almost at once the cover of a compartment of batteries was broke off. Now it isn't fixed on the case, but fixed on a place well. Light covering has the form strongly stretched form. If to remove indoors close the photo center is across lit more brightly. The curtain corrects it. Other Thoughts:. It is my first tested flash, to compare to me there is nothing. But I am very happy. It is many times better to regular flash of mine Sony A350. I have been very surprised by capacity if to flash directly in a hand heat and if to a black paper there is a smoke)) is felt. As very much time mode ADI-TTL. Pictures ...

  • Good Flash option for Sony A Series

I have used the flash a couple of times since receiving it. I am still learning the settings and functions, but like the end results received.
