Product Information

The soul still burns as the stage of history makes its second appearance on PS2. Distinguishing Soul Calibur III from earlier editions, and from most other fighting games in general, is the ability to create a custom character. Players can choose the gender, physical appearance, weapon, and fighting style of their created character, who they'll lead through the game's main story mode, earning new items and unlocking additional customization options. Favorite fighters from earlier editions are available as well, along with three new soulful warriors -- the mysterious Zasalamel, the hoop-wielding Tira, and the close-combat specialist Setsuka -- for more than two dozen playable characters in all. Even the stock Soul Calibur characters have been customized to some extent, as once-similar fighters, such as Siegfried and Nightmare or Sophitia and Cassandra, now battle with noticeably different moves. In spite of these changes, the fast-paced fighting is designed to retain a familiar feel for veterans of the series.

    Good game but very hard

    This game is very fun i love the character creation aspect you can make some very pretty female characters. The storyline is pretty easy but the custom character storyline is very difficult. The way the classes work is that some just have a distinct advantage over others and each has their trade-offs. Like if your custom character gets hit you can potentially get koed with 1 combo and matches are a best of 1. But your character can level up but their is no way to grind up your level and their is no difficulty setting. The storyline with the regular characters is pretty easy though.

    Great Game

    With old and new characters, this franchise shows that even in its low times, it can still keep its fans entertained. This game features character creation to up the ante with your own fighter in the mix. There are also multiple endings for certain characters that makes you want to keep playing to seek out the best ending. Overall one of the best in the series.

    In times of crisis, the souls of battle ignite

    Having played almost every other Soul Calibur game, this was meant to be a collection piece but upon playing I found it stacks up just as well with the rest of the series, beating out some favorites like 4 and 5 for me. Smooth gameplay, crips animations and an amazing return to our favorites souls in history. Absolutely recommend.

    Best PS2 fighting game.

    Best PS2 fighting game. Ive played a lot of video games in my life and this one to me is one that sticks out. I will never forget getting the demo back in 2005. I just found out my ps3 can play ps2 games so i couldnt find my original copy. So i had to get a new one.
