About this product

Product Information

Bad Company takes the open-level play of the online, multiplayer-oriented Battlefield games and makes it more personal -- and more profitable. In a relatively extensive single-player campaign, gamers take the role of a renegade soldier in the near-future, who joins three of his brothers-in-arms to go AWOL in search of personal fame and fortune. A variety of land, air, and sea craft become available during their adventures, along with an arsenal of powerful weaponry.

As seems to be common among modern mercenary video game heroes out for profit, the soldiers of Bad Company have an appetite for destruction. The game features destructible environments, which become part of the gameplay. Buildings, barriers, and the earth itself can be disrupted with the right firepower and players are encouraged to use their ability to alter the battlefield in order to complete mission objectives.

In addition to the single-player modes, Battlefield: Bad Company features online play with support for 24 players. Along with established Battlefield multiplayer game types, Bad Company offers a "Gold Rush" mode, in which teams take turns at offensive and defensive roles in destructible, re-shapeable battlefields. The game is the first to run on EA DICE's "Frostbite" game engine, designed for destructible 3D action in high-definition.

Controversially, EA's initial release of Bad Company is available in two packages: a regular edition and a "Gold Edition." Ten additional weapons for the game are available as downloadable content, after the main game is purchased. Five of the weapons are available for free and the other five can be purchased for a fee by regular edition owners. The "Gold Edition" of the game includes the otherwise pay-to-play downloadable weapons.

    Great game!

Considering this game is nearly 10 years old (Release Date in US on 23 June 2008), graphics are what you should expect for and old game, but you can still have lot of fun playing it. GOLD RUSH is my favorite game mode.

  • Battlefield Bad Company isn't all that Bad

It's a pretty solid shooter. With Battlefield you get your basic action war elements, but you're also on a dangerous hunt for gold while being followed by a mysterious Mercenary cult that call themselves the LEGIONNAIRE. Each level/map starts off with gold and collectibles hidden through the map. Any gun you use or pick up for the first time is considered a collectible, and the more collectible and gold you find the more achievements you get. The number of things you can blow up is almost endless, I probably spent a good 5 hours blasting down trees and knifing down fences. That alone is a reason to look for a cheap or reasonably priced copy. However, the game is relatively easy and even on the hardest difficulty you can beat it in under a week. If your looking for another war game to put ...

  • Great Game, Comparison to COD4 if you read.

It was a lot of fun, and I know a lot of people want a comparison to Call Of Duty 4. So here it is...It is about as much fun as COD4 to play, but has some significant difference that I don't like. here they are. 1. You can't go prone (lay down) 2. You can't upgrade your weapon (adding different scopes and colors) 3. You can't edit your kit (Match main weapons with side weapons and different grenades etc.) Some differences I don't mind 1. don't regain health unless medic helps you, or you have an auto injector. 2. bonus points for different types of kills (headshot, avenger, savior, knifed, etc.) 3. longer respawn time (some may not like it, I think it encourages you to live longer, and not do anything stupid) And some difference I love (these make the game) 1. You can drive vehicles ...

  • fun single player, but amazing multiplayer experience

Battlefield bad company was quite an experience to be play first i want to start off by saying that the destruction engine this game uses is quite amazing and gives the game a sense of realism as well as helps you destroy, find, enter enemy bases etc. so the single player in this was very addictive with its funny and war torn story line and throughout most of the single player campaign there really isn't a way you cannot take in getting by the mission by destroying and making your own path to victory.which makes this game extremely fun as well as enjoyable and addictive.multiplayer is even more of an addictive and fun experience and once again there isn't a wrong way to take down your opponents in the game thanks to the destructible environment's.there are two online game modes which doesn't ...

  • I can't love or hate it enough...

(This review concerns the multiplayer portion of the game. The campaign, though not horrible, isn't really worth it in the long run) I have a love hate relationship with this game. Bad Company manages to pull one over on the Call of Duty series with it's huge battlefields, gameplay mechanics, destructible environments and vehicle usage YET still manages to infuriate me every now and again. Reason being: some very slow and sometimes nearly unresponsive controls. I can't tell you how many times switching weapons has gotten me killed. The time it takes to switch from gun to knife to gun again is ridiculous in itself. So I'm stuck loving this game for the originality and entertainment while in the same instance cursing it every time I feel I've been unfairly killed. It's a bit like staying ...
