About this product

Product Information

EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontiers expands the persistent world of Norrath with more territory to explore, stronger monsters to slay, a new playable race, and hundreds of additional items and spells to earn while adventuring. An in-game tutorial has been included to help new players get accustomed to the controls and interface, and an in-game link to customer service is designed to minimize the frustrations that can occur while experiencing an online universe for the first time. Frontiers lives up to its name by offering intrepid explorers over 162 square miles of new lands to discover, from the red rocks of Odus to the bubbling magma found in Lavastorm's deadly streams.

The player models and armor have received a number of visual enhancements, so players can customize their character's appearance and see the fruits of their labor directly onscreen. The new playable race, the ogre, possesses a deadly combination of brute force and powerful magic capabilities, and characters of all races will be able to enjoy "expanded content" once they reach certain high levels. Since EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontiers is an online-only game, allowing thousands of players to participate simultaneously, requirements include owning the PS2 Network Adaptor as well paying a monthly fee of nine dollars and 99 cents for unlimited adventuring and game updates.

  • Interactive Gameplay

This game gives you the ability to play a slimmed down version of Everquest on the Playstation 2 console. If you are new to the game, it is easy to get started as the quests begin immediately to help you out. You can group up with other players online to combat with harder monsters or go at it solo if you prefer that style of play. There are several crafting tradeskills available if you are the artisan/merchant type with player created auctions available to sell your wares. You have the ability to chat with other players using a keyboard interface (in-game) or using basic commands that are built-in. The only downside that slightly bothers me is the default camera controls, which can be modified, but still are not great. Overall I give it a 4/5 rating.

  • Everquest OA is a must try for every MMORPG fan!

Everquest on the PC was a huge undertaking for the console, but Sony managed to get all the controls and gameplay down into an experience that is a must! If you are a fan of EQ on the PC and think the console version couldn't possible offer any thing new or exciting you are very wrong. EQ:OA on the PS2 is basically what I would call "EQ mini", not to say it is any less of a game cause that is far from the truth. You get all the standards of a regular MMO, large world, questing, crating, chatting and all the great drops :). EQ:OA takes everything great about EQ and makes it more accesible and most of all FUN. The quests are more straight forward and more "adventure" oriented but actually more enjoyable than most EQ hunt and fetch quests. The two games compliment one another extremely weel ...

  • EVERQUEST ONLINE ADVENTURES WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

OK FIRST OFF YOU SHOULD NOT BUY EVERQUEST USED FOR PS2. BECUZ IT CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE. I BOUTHG ONE USED AN COULD NOT USE IT THE SELLER REFUNDED MY MONEY AN WAS VERY NICE CUZ THEY DID NOT KNOW THIS FACT. THE ONLY WAY TO REUSE A USED EQ IS YOU WOULD NEED TO KNOW ALL INFO OR ORIGINAL OWNER AN OR MEMORY CARD . BUT DO NOTE THAT SONY PLAY STATION DOES NOT SUPORT SHARED EQ ACCOUNTS. ANYWAY OTHER THAN THAT I LOVE THE GAME. IM SURE THERE ARE BETTER GAMES OUT THERE,BUT EQ ROCKS. IT CAN GET BORING AT TIMES BUT THEN YOU PICK IT RIGHT BACK UP. I LIKE IT ALOT. ITS A GOOD GAME TO PAST THE TIME AN MAKE NEW FRIENDS.

  • Everquest Online Adventures: Frontiers

Actually it's the only MMORPG for PS2 other than Final Fantasy lol, which isn't just for the PS2. This game is great, and the raiding aspect of the game is challenging and fun. The competition in the higher end part of the game gets a bit frustrating at time because people can get pretty mean, but it's the nature of competition. CS is ok, usually does as good of a job as any professional referee so I guess that's a good thing.

  • Sony cancel this game online
