I purchased this as a prop for a music video. I never expected it to work for $30. When a made a first recording I was pleasantly surprised. The response was very good, low noise and much better than I was expecting. The quality is really quite good although a preamp would do wonders. It comes with a high z cable (XLR to 1/4") so I am betting a fully balanced cable will help quite a bit. It's unmistakable at first glance. That iconic Turner 101A we love so much It has a mic stand thread and reducer for smaller mounts. All in all, a very nice package for the price. I purchased this as a prop for a music video. Mic good. Cable bad
The cable was defective. One wire was loose and needed resoddering. After reconnected it with tape, volume was very low. When i switched to one of my cables it worked great. Xlr to xlr sounded better than xlr to quarter inch. It could have been just that particular cable though. Sound quality was good enough to make you cool looking when making announcements. Surprisingly clear, clean, quality vocals. No hesitation to use it live gigging as a backup or primary mic. I sing lead country, southern and classic rock and blues and this mic gets it done as needed. Love the retro styling.

The best the Mao Mafia has to offer, which ain't a very high bar. Cheap, plugs right into any 3.5mm input, works great with Audacity in Windows and Linux, and cool retro design. Only downer is the cheap plastic construction which I expected upon ordering it.
