What's not to like about GRETSCH guitars? One of the founding fathers in the electric guitar game, it just breathes history. Anyway, I wanted a cool one at a good price and boy did I get it. Bigsby whammy, check. Cool metallic finish, check. Master volume knob (very useful esp on hollowbodies), check. Add on a redesigned hollow body and beefy new pickups and I'm a happy retro dude. Neal's Music shipped it SUPER-fast, too

this model expands the range. purists may quibble its too warm, and wall collectors might pine for bound f holes. I think this model is a rare gretsch you can play a wide range on. it is warmer than most. if that bugs you there are excellent aftermarket pickups. the neck has a hybrid fender-ibanez feel that is both comfortable and fast. good factory finish and setup - only minor tweaks needed. do get a roller bridge and have some nut sauce handy if you really want to use the bigsby. with that it will hold tune great and be a lot of fun. cleans and gains both very solid. hat tip to gretsch on a fantastic product.

This guitar is a great tone machine and has a great feel to the hand and the body. It is tasteful in any genre of music. The support of the team and their communication and follow up is fantastic!!! Rock on!!! I'm totally satisfied. 😎

Feels and sounds like a great big Gretsch hollow body, but at a fraction of the cost. Bigsby arm is great, and really stays in tune. Great guitar, great price.

For the money this is unbeatable, at a stroke Gretsch knocked every other semi maker in this price bracket into the weeds. Easy to play with a nice slim neck, stylish look and great finish even at this price, I also own 6120's but this is up there playability wise and can easily be hot rodded with better hardware as the price allows. Pickups are meaty and more powerful than Filtertrons, I had a MK1 which was about 8k output, FT's are about 5.0k in comparison. Looks stylish, a finishing touch would be bound soundholes but something for later perhaps, the logo is stylish and a lot better than the old 5120 one. If you are a solid body player, this gives you a proper Gretsch name guitar with easy playing and different sounds you could even record with. A good buy.
