    Versatile Dress Pattern for Moderately Experienced Sewers

    I have not made the jacket, and so this review only refers to the dress pattern. I bought the pattern in stores a few years ago, and made a cotton floral dress and a black dress of finer fabric. I have worn both extensively and received many compliments. Depending on fabric, the pattern is a good multi-purpose one - dress up or down. The fine work over the bodice shows up best on solid fabrics. I love this pattern so much that I recently bought one on eBay (I believe it is now retired by Simplicity) because I have gone up two sizes and wanted to make new dresses that are not quite so snug. The pattern is for a fitted dress, but I found the patterns to be true to size (if you are not familiar with sewing, pattern sizing is not the same as store sizing).
