    Satisfied

It could have included the cable to the laptop, and none of the “help” advise, etc features worked with neither one of my cars

Bought to read codes on '95 OBD 1.5

Read in the product description that this product would read codes on a 1995 OBD "1.5" GMC Sonoma. Ordered, and received promptly. Tried to read codes and unit would not recognize or allow manual input of anything older than 1996. Called Actron tech support and they said that different model would have to be purchased to read the '95 model, as this one would not. Please know that with a '95 model with a "OBD 2 compliant" (computer under the hood on the right fender skirt by the coolant reserve tank) this reader will not work, as per Actron themselves. You need a CP9690 according to them. Otherwise, a good quality product and seems easy to use as designed.

  • Thumbs Down

This does not detect SRS/Air Bag systems or ABS on a 2004 Honda Civic EX, other devices in the same price range do with no problem. It does detect the ABS/SRS on a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT however while driving and doing I/M monitoring the device loses OBD Data link connectivity and disables all dash functions on the vehicle which is not only incredibly scary its extremely dangerous. This is the only device this happens with. Not sure if mine is a defect or this is just of bad quality. I'd say go for a Zurich ZR13 instead. Honest opinion. Would not recommend.

  • Excellent Scanner Has Already Paid For Itself in Saved Mechanic Costs

This is an excellent scanner and has already saved me much more in mechanic costs than I spent on the product. I have a 2002 Ford Expedition that was clearly misfiring but was not displaying any codes. I saw a YouTube video where the YouTuber had the exact same issue and demonstrated how to determine which cylinder was misfiring if no codes were displayed. I noticed he was using this same exact scanner to perform his diagnostic tests, so that is why I purchased this one … knowing that it would work. Sure enough, I was able to run the diagnostic test and immediately identified that cylinder 4 was misfiring. I replaced the coil and spark plug and the vehicle is running flawlessly again. I definitely saved a lot of money that it would have cost to have a mechanic run diagnostics and ultimately repair. I had originally purchased a different and admittedly cheaper brand scanner that was supposed to be able to perform the same diagnostic tests as this scanner, but it was unable to do so. I would definitely recommend this scanner. I know it will be invaluable to me for my vehicles.

  • Useless for Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is November 2018. There is still no software update for one of the most popular vehicles 2011 - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, specifically my 2014 model. I am told to buy a professional model for OBDII compatibility. It does read the VIN number, however. It is mostly useless in the generic mode. Built very well, too bad it doesn't do much.

  • Actron CP9680 Autoscanner

Caught this open box item, and was a great buy.for a NEW (never registered) open box item. Had to contact the manufacture and register it, because it would not read the SRS seat belt codes, ABS, or the Brake anti-lock codes. They sent me an updated download by computer to my scanner that fixed the problem, FREE. Works on everything I have tried it on so far. Like it very much..

  • Scanner review!

Will not work or read anything like my 2000 Toyota Tundra! Thought I got a good deal but just waisted my money! When I found out it was too late to return! The application guide could not be read! I guess the purchase was my fault!

  • A lot of scanner for a little cost!

Great scanner for someone that doesn't want to spend a fortune. Many good features.

  • Totally worth the extra $$ over the cheap-o units.

I have had a few cheap-o scanners. While they are fine for turning off the "check engine" light on your dashboard and giving the error code, with this thing you can actually diagnose the problem. Totally worth the extra bucks over the cheap units. High quality construction, really nice screen and you can update the software (for free) with a USB cable.
