  • Graphite body has too much flex. Handle too thin.

When fighting larger fish, striped bass around 15 lbs or so, reel feels like gears might strip. Body has too much flex, and handle too thin. Does not feel solid, like my battle II or Daiwa BG. Wonderfully smooth, nice drag. Problem is in lack of rigidity/stability of composite body. Time will tell is she holds up. Purchased for light weight and Daiwa name.

  • Exceptional performance, superior value!

The Daiwa Fuego line of spinning reels are an awesome value. There are many spinning reels around the $100 price point, and I'd rate this as one of the best. The reels are extremely well built, and very smooth. I've purchased six of these reels over the past two years, fished them frequently for 2+ seasons and they're operating like the day I first opened the box. Highly recommend comparing the Fuego side:side with similarly priced reels if you're in the market for a spinning reel at this price point.

  • Great inshore reel

Really wanted a 2500D but got a fantastic price on the 3000D. I specifically wanted the lower gear ratio as the fish I target are caught on slower retrieves. With the slightly larger spool, the lower gear ratio will give me that slower retrieve speed. Reel appears well built. I will be adding Carbontex drag washers but am getting away from Shimano and their line roller bearing issues. A bushing like the Fuego has is fine with me.

  • Great spinning reel under $100

This is a mid-price-range reel for Daiwa's new LT (light and tough) concept spinning reels. I bought this because it has magseal for saltwater use. I passed the next one up, theTatula, which has corrosion resistant ball bearings but no magseal and cost about $100 more. To get both corrosion resistant ball bearings and magseal, I would have to get the Ballistic, but they are over $200. I think the Fuego is the best deal for both saltwater and freshwater. It is extremely smooth and feels lighter than my Daiwa BG. I caught a spotted bay bass the first time I took it out.

  • Premium reel at a reasonable price

Super light, they use some kind of new dense graphite material. So smooth, very solid feeling reel. The drag has a nice range of adjustment so you can fine tune if you use lighter line. I'm extremely picky & can't find a single thing I would change. Daiwa got it right

  • Fantastic

Cast far with 10 lb. braid. Light reel and has a smooth feeling. Would recommend it.

  • Smooth and Light

Item appears new in box. Very light, but sturdy. Bail is made of a heavier wire, which should be durable. Haven't used it yet, however the reel operation is very smooth. May purchase another one.

  • Great midrange reel

You cannot compare this to Stratics or okuma v series, but for it's class this is a great reel. No line roller, but I have yet to have an issue yet. Plus it is super light and magsealed. We will see how it works over the next couple of months of hard foshig, but for right now a great reel for it's class.

  • Favorite reel

I coupled this with Daiwa J8 braid and it by far casts further than any other reel I own. It's incredibly smooth on the retrieve, had zero hang-ups and the drag is great. Light weight and perfect reel at its price point for any inshore/near shore fishing. I plan to add several of these to my toolbox
