    Amazing quality photos!

    Weather it is used to print photos, brochures, or just a letter, the Hp Laserjet 400 has amazing print quality. The only printer that I liked better was the Laserjet 400 MFP, which is a scanner/copier/fax also. If you have the money to upgrade to that printer, I'd say go for it. I've never had any problems with any HP printers, and find it amazing that you can always find HP printer ink just about anywhere. I walked into a 7-Eleven last night and they had a whole area of just HP printer ink, no other printer companies ink, just HP. That should say something in itself, can't go wrong with an HP Laserjet.

    Damaged Product Received

    Printer came with damaged ethernet port. We had to purchase an additional cord to hook up to USB port. Color printer does not always print out in color.

    Worth the effort

    I dubbed this printer The Fortress of Doom because it took a series of battles to conquer it - and it's heavy! I'm running Linux Mint, so HPsmartinstall was only a barrier. I never was able to connect by USB. I'm sure it would have been a piece of cake in Windows, but I wasn't going there! With the ethernet connection, however, it functions beautifully as a network printer, which is better anyway for my collecton of computers. Now that it's settled in, I love it. It's very fast. The print quality is great, clean and sharp. With its embedded webserver, I can tweak all its settings easily using a web browser. Getting color right is tricky, but less so than with other color printers I've used. All in all, I think it's as close to perfect as I can afford.
