Episodes I've watched haven't had any standard dvd problems. This boxed set is really nice that comes with a little pamphlet called the "program guide" describing each episode & it's air date. Each episode on the dvds comes with a prompt to turn on or off the subtitles & the episode's air date. Only concern is that dvds are packaged with 2 to an enclosed panel & one halfway covers the other, which could easily lead to scratches on that bottom dvd. I've put some of the covered dvds in separate jewel cases to protect them. Sure wish Gunsmoke's episodes 5-8 & so on came in a wonderful package like the 1st 2 seasons of the rifleman. Well worth the cost.
