Big adjustment upgrading from a windows phone that was several years old. Took a lot of time to customize the settings to my preferences, and am still learning how to operate some of the apps. I do like the phone and its features. The S-pen is smooth and a little difficult to handle, if it was textured it would make it easier to hold on to. Buyers need to remember that this is a large phone, or bigger then the standard one, so you need to think about how you plan to carry it. I have not had the problem I've heard some complain about with the fingerprint reader location. It's not just a matter of the size of your hands, but also how you prefer to hold the phone. GREAT PHONE MINIMAL BLOATWARE
Replaced my Note5 with this in 2018, I was in love with my Note5, this one is as good with more screen. Data transfer was easy even though the 5 was crushed and rained upon, well easy enough for the tech at the local BestBuy that Frankenstein'd my Note5 to retrieve my data. It's 2021 and I still miss my Note5, this Note8 isn't compatible with the new Spectrum or Yahoo mobile, despite using it directly with the Verizon network for 3 years. Awesome phone.
The Galaxy Note is awesome if you work a job where you constantly find yourself having to take down notes or make lists. As a paralegal I'm constantly having to jot things down and the integrated stylus means I can just pop it out and write naturally as opposed to having to use a tiny keyboard. If you're in a courtroom obviously you can't use speech-to-text, and using the keyboard on your phone just looks like you're texting or something, NOT something you want a judge to see. Instead sitting there using a stylus on your device looks much better for you, and the nature of your handwriting is more conducive to natural thought. Many folks have their own shorthand or use specific symbols when writing and the stylus makes that handy.
