Good Sound for the Patio
These speakers sound and look really good on my patio. I wanted something for background music, and these fit the bill. They are just a tad bigger than I thought, but still a nice size. I have used them a few times now, and am happy with the sound of them. I don't have a subwoofer hooked up to my stereo, just adjusted the bass/treble a little, and they do a good job. I will probably take them in for the winter, but its been raining a lot here and the "outdoors" hasn't hurt them at all. If you are not looking for a "blow the doors off" type speaker, just some music on the patio, these may be good for you too. These speakers sound and look really good on my patio. Good value outdoor speakers
Good value for low cost outdoor speakers. Sound good. Attractive finish. Easy to mount. Mfg. literature that comes in the box says they must be mounted in a sheltered location. Only real flaw is that the connectors are very small and close together. I used 16 gauge wire and had a lot of difficulty getting the wire to work without shorting out. Speakers are fairly loud up close. Was not able to max them out as I bought the Bluetooth amplifier that was recommended by the mfg. and it does not have the necessary power to drive them. These are 4 star speakers. Would have given them a 5 star if not for the weak connectors.Good value for low cost outdoor speakers. Sound good. Attractive finish. Easy to mount. Overall these are nice speakers. Sound reproduction is fine. Mounting system is nice. These would rate a 5 star if not for the cheap quality spring connectors. The connectors are worse than the typical Chinese junk quality. Wires slip out quite easily, even 12 AWG stranded. Pin connectors slip out easily. Wiggling the cable causes intermittent connection. I've been doing audio work for nearly 40 years and these are the worst connectors I've ever encountered. This may not be a problem when the speakers are installed as 99% of the time speakers do not get moved after they are connected. It would have been nice if a 1/4" phone jack was used in place of or in conjunction with the spring connectors. I bought these knowing they'd be Chinese quality and expected ok sound and ... What is so surprising about these particular Dual speakers is that they sound as if they are much larger than they are. The 3 way design is crucial for good clear mids that sing. I find that the woofer is big enough to provide rich low frequency tones that cut through the mix. There is no question that Dual's selection of dome tweeters is the reason the highs are so noticeable and clear. When driven with a nice digital Sony 500 watt receiver they light up our back yard with clear crisp sound that is free of distortion and nothing is garbled, nothing . . . just nice full sound. I really like these speakers for our back patio which is 30 x 14 its complete now, thanks to these. They also have a nice matte finish which was easy to paint to match the cream trim on the house and they appear ...
