    Not only bangs your buck, but your build too

    For the money, I'd say the best hexcore CPU combo with hyperthreading you can get your hands on used for cheap. Rated for 95 TDP, most coolers (non-top down ones) will be able to handle a pair of these bad boys so you don't need to spend extra to chill these chips. Should you need to upgrade your heatsink, grab a fairly sized one with 4-6 heat pipes, and set up for a push/pull configuration. It'll be sufficient cooling until you decide to upgrade to a new platform. CineBench scores over 1300 consistently, render time in Adobe Premiere is noticeably faster compared to quad cores. If you don't want to break the bank on upgrading your LGA1366 dual core or quad core xeons, consider the X5650.

    Great CPU for x58 boards

    I have been using an older x58 board that I always intended to use to overclock my core i7 930. Really never got around to it since it always performed adequately. Now with newer windows and a few games, it was showing its age. I started looking at i7 980x chips, but they are still a couple hundred dollars, but this x5650 6 core is similar. Runs cooler, and with a mild OC, runs at 4ghz. Stock is 2.6. I do have an aftermarket cooler hyper 212. But I think it could even hit 4.2+ with better cooling. .great little chip.

    Great upgrade on X58 motherboards

    Great replacement for CPU:s like the i7-920. Two more cores and a lot cooler. Overclocks reasonably well depending on your motherboard. Make sure to update the BIOS first before installing CPU.

    Amazing value for your money!

    I bought these for my production server I was building, with virtualization, and I'm very impressed how these 7 year old CPUs still hold up perfectly to what I throw at them. They don't run very hot and work nicely. They have another 5 years of life ahead of them. Very satisfied with the purchase.
