    Ultra thin 7mm 1TB Hard Disk Drive (5400 RPM)

    This is the thinnest hard drive I've ever installed! I had to replace the 1TB HDD of a ultra thin Dell Laptop and, at 7mm thick, this was exactly what I needed! It mounts in the typical 2.5 inch HDD mounts and it is lightweight but also has a solid feel to it. I have had the best success rate with Western Digital Hard Disk Drives and that is another reason why I chose this model. The old/defective HDD was made by HGST, and which, to me, did not feel as solid as the Western Digital.

    WD 10SPCX 2.5" Blue 1TB HDD

    A great drive! Quiet, vibration free, fast and draws an average of only 0.5 amps! Add WD famed reliability and what's not to love? This is the "thin" version of this drive yet in use it barely gets warm. It also uses intelligent rampsing to park the heads when not in use- a key reliability attribute for a 2.5" of this capacity with such a low "flying height" of the heads. Some bloggers have written that this drive tends to be a little long and might be hard to fit in a laptop bay... maybe the early versions - but this one (2015) has no such issue.

    Quality Hard Drive

    This is the second WD Blue series hard drive that I have purchased, both are 1 TB 5,400 RPM Sata hard drives. The WD Blue series have a good reputation and good reviews. I am using both of these hard drives for external storage. Both hard drives have been reliable so far and both hard drives are about two years old. They fit in an external hard drive enclose perfect. The drives are thin (7mm), light, very quiet and run cool according to my hard drive monitor app. Western Digital states that the WD Blue drives use "No Touch Ramp Load Technology". This means that the recording head never touches the disc media. This was another reason that I bought this hard drive.
