Love this game, much better than the original Pikmin for there is no time restraint. You can play for as many days as you need. Very cute but it gets progressively hard, especially The Wistful Wild. A must have for any GameCube owner.

I bought this game because I played Pikmin 1 and it kept me wanting to keep playing more and more... then suddenly I beat the game. I bought the second game because the first one was so fun. I enjoyed the new colors, and new things I could do with the pikmin (which may or may not have been possible in the first one.. I never checked). The new colors definitely bring a new twist to the game, being able to just smash apart enemies with the purple... but the whites are pretty much only helpful with the new stuff they added in the game (meaning there wasn't really much poison in the first game... so we didn't need white pikmin). The caves are where you find these new colors, which the caves themselves are fun to explore. You can stay in them as long as you like.. assuring you that you can clear the whole area before you move on. Which is nice, because I'm not huge on time limits. This brings me to the bad parts. While you have unlimited days to make enough money, you still only have from sunrise to sunsest to do what you want to do. You get around it in the first one... but the levels almost seem bigger in the second one. I liked the daily time limit even less in the second one. I most likely just got tired of it after playing through the first one. So overall, if you didn't mind the daily time limit... you are set with this game. Its very fun, much like a lemmings game. Except you have enemies to defeat.Read full review
Pikmin 2 is the follow-up to 2001's Pikmin, Nintendo's unique, nature-based strategy game. The series casts you as Captain Olimar, a bulbous-nosed space traveler who is tiny in stature and big on bad luck. The first Pikmin put you in control of Olimar as he raced to reconstruct his spacecraft, the Dolphin, after crash-landing it on a mysterious planet. The day was saved when Olimar discovered sentient local flora--which he named pikmin--that ended up helping him to collect the pieces of his ship so that he could escape. The original game was, at times, cute and a little disturbing, but it had an undeniable charm despite its modest length. Much the same holds true for Pikmin 2, but this time out, Nintendo has addressed the bulk of the shortcomings of its predecessor by crafting a game that tops the original in nearly every way.Read full review
I have been hunting down a good copy of this game for over a year at a decent price. Well I found it! As an upcoming birthday gift I know my girlfriend will be thrilled to finally have this to add to her collection of other games along with her original Pikmin. I could not be more satisfied. Thank you!

Upon recieving the package, I inspected it for scratches and pn a scale of 1-10 I'd give the disc surface quality a 7. That being said, it seems as if the game boots up fine, just need to get a controller now to do a complete inspection
