had it a little over a month. quite accurate; fairly easy to find and download operating instructions. this model is probably not going to be available soon, but for the $60 i paid for it, it was certainly worth the search (use the model numbers). much smaller than most of the pie plate watches that are in vogue now, and much more practical. stays easily visible all night long. great for folks that like well designed things that work!

Shroud is nice but overpriced when using it a good matching fit strap makes a big difference in the overall look

This is your top choice if you are looking for a mechanical, military style watch for day-to-day wear. It is beautifully-made, and has the feel of a high-quality watch. Good value for the money. You can change the band easily to match your style. It's also fun to show off the mechanicals through the clear back. Nobody knows what an "automatic" or "mechanical" watch is anymore!

Excellent watch. I hate that Seiko has decided to discontinue it. Don't be fooled by the new Seiko 5 series! Those watches are not certified dive watches. Sure, the 5s are attractive and may be suitable for the weekend warriors out there, but as far as a true diver at this price....the SKX is one of the best choices. Until Seiko decides to give us an update, we're stuck with scavenging for this beautiful discontinued model that has a tested tried and true history. At 38mm, it's ideal for the smaller wrist. If a larger diver is your bag, try the SKX009 or SKX007. They are currently running a bit cheaper than this SKX013. Seiko isn't known for its straps, so save the few bucks and purchase on rubber and switch it out with a strap to your liking.

Too bad they are being discontinued, plastic band is too bulky. Replaced with Stainless 20MM Jubilee 44G2Z1 band. Watch keeps great time, but have not had it long enough for a good evaluation. So far keeping good time.

Seiko really designed a beautiful watch in this series. Nice diver with tried and true Seiko automatic movement. For a relatively "big" watch it wears very well. Doesn't sit up as high as the Orange Monster. Slips under a cuff very nicely. The clasp has Sea master type buttons that you depress on the sides with a flip safety. This is a weighty watch with heft that lets you know it's on your wrist. The only downside I can see is the 15mm width lug that would limit what you can do with additional/accessory bands. Highly recommend.

For the $60 price point, this is an excellent watch. This a no frills, utilitarian watch. Very easy to read day and date window, though it could do without the minute markings (20, 25, 30, etc). The body is nice and compact. The dial and case are just wide enough to contain the hands. It is thinner than I expected. The cloth band leaves some to be desired. The holes are poorly cut and difficult to find with the clasp. Easy to set and keeps time well. I tested the runtime and came up with 47 hours. I checked it at 38 hours and it still had accurate time to the minute. I am very pleased with this Seiko addition to my collection.
If you're comparing this to another diver, unless it's a Rolex, Breitling, or some very expensive example, just go with the Seiko. It's very high quality, built like a tank, looks killer with steel, rubber, or nylon bands, and can dress up or down. I'm amazed by this watch and wear it more often than my Rolex Date. My only regret is that I waited 4 months researching divers before pulling the trigger on the Seiko. I wish someone would have said "just buy it, you'll love it."

Love the watch my only complaint is that the hr. hand does not light great at night, still love the watch, the style is unbelievable.

the skx013 looks a lot like its bigger brother the 007. the watch fits comfortably on my wrist and is the best size for it. as usual seiko makes a great watch but I feel its time they upgrade the movement to a 4r36. you get a whole lot of watch for the money.
