    A mine of information.

    Very well written and an excellent narrative with some very good relevant illustrations. This book is a mine of information and not just about the New York Met but about people and at times reveals their ‘mind-set’ – such as regarding the prejudice against coloured artists, until broken by the author. No criticisms regarding the author, but it is a very great pity that there are no indexes – front or back – so you just have to hunt.
