  • Great collection of late golden age

The entire "Columbia Classics" collection is a great snapshot of country and western across the years. This CD gives a great snapshot of the fourties and fifties c/w scene. For those who were there, a beautiful trip back. For younger listeners, this gives a breath of the enthusiasm and growth that was C/W at that time - grown beyond the simple sounds of the 30's, starting to expand, but not the overblown/overproduced products of the seventies up to now. Rowdy country, bar room ballads but with a clean shirt.
