I must say, in terms of camcorders, Sony sure does know how to put out a reasonably decent flagship and this camcorder is no exception. The images are nice and sharp even before post production, the 60p option is a lifesaver considering QTGMC (a high quality deinterlacing filter for use with 480i or 1080i video) is as slow as it is, the 96GB coupled with a 256GB card makes for more recording time than even I know what to do with and the balanced SteadyShot is a nice touch. Overall, the camcorder is amazing (I should mention the USB arm for charging OR data transfer). Right off, all you need is a battery. Now, remember I made a point to say "BUT" in the title? That has to do with the zoom. Unfortunately, Sony seems to have dropped the ball in 2011 and 2012 from my testing. When in standby, it functions as expected, but in recording, when using the zoom at full speed, it occasionally has a 0.2 second lag between hitting or releasing the lever and something happening. Thos can be a problem if you are trying to get a specific shot. The slower speeds have better control, but there is a mild learning curve. For that reason, I cannot recommend the camcorder to everybody, but if you are willing to figure it out, the camcorder is otherwise quite the buy. I cannot overstate this no matter how hard I try. This camcorder does amazingly at its intended purpose (of recording video).Read full review

Bought as my B camera for live shoots, exceeded all my expectations. The biggest improvement over previous generations of Video Cameras is the Active steady shot, It is amazing, your hand held video shots looks like they were shot using a tripod. Improved image sensors mean shots remain sharp in lower light situations. This is a small form factor video camera and of moderate weight making it easy to hold and operate for extended periods. Ideal ergonomics for small hands, that being said the bigger your hands the Less ergonomic becomes operation of zoom. Overall this is the best Prosumer camera out there. For 2013 Sony dropped the non projector model but other than a built in projector the HDR-PJ760V is the same camera.
I like all the features of this camcorder. Planning to use to do semi-professional videos and website clips. Would have liked to see the original accessories with come with the purchase, but it was like the picture. (what happened to the accessories?).
