Back when the game first came out, I purchased a copy. I leant it to a friend and it dissappeared. I had the other fallout games and played them throught again recently and wanted to play through this one again too. The change to the tacticle format was not terrible, but I did not care for the linear, mission based aspect of the game. On the previous fallout games, the world felt a little more free, I could go where I wanted (on the world map), and was not confined to only the mission maps. Overall: a good story and gameplay, but a little too linear.
Heya, I bought Fallout Tactics for the sole reason that both Fallout/Fallout 2 were both great games. This game is set between the time of Fallout and Fallout 2, because of events in Fallout (not to give it away) you are now part of the Brotherhood of Steel heading a team of fellow warriors to keep the peace. Imagine Fallout without the talking/running errands and more of the combat. I got the same description but it is a tactical game. You can crouch for better shots, direct certain members to lie in ambush, and recruit Mutants, Deathclaws, and Dogs (all of which I haven't done yet). Finally, the game includes the perks to customize both your character and the ones you *recruit* in your team. You don't have to stress over what type of character to play because you can find other soliders who might be good at unarmed combat, first aid, or thief skills. If you liked both Fallout/Fallout 2 then this is a must! Also, the game gives you a choice of Turn-Based or Continuous Play (like Baldur's Gate). In short, it's very enjoyable--and some advice: The pre-order versions of Tactics came with one bonus mission and a pen/paper game. If you find one without the *bonus disk* then don't stress! You can find it on the web and download the said extras.Read full review
Everything was perfect. It arrived in about 3 days and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it.
