Self-powered Unit
Just what I was looking for to operate my 12V propane furnace from an RV. The 12V powered furnace only looks for a contact closure to initiate its' heating cycle, and that's what this digital display thermostat does. It does not use power from the furnace to operate so the furnace voltage doesn't matter (although high (line) voltage would probably fry the unit) . Most "battery backup" units that I looked at were unclear as to whether they would operate on 12 volts, and one comment attributed to a Honeywell representative stated that their units don't work on 12V. Also, reviews from users who installed other units offered confusing installation instructions involving "C" wires, etc., so to be safe I ordered this unit because I knew it would work, being totally dependent on the alkaline(!) ... The control setpoint only goes down to 45F, but it does control to within 1F degree as advertised. Screws and drywall anchors included for installation, and the display lights up briefly when the setpoint buttons are pressed. Totally happy.

High Quality Made in USA!
It’s Made in USA. It replaced a failed thermostatic controller in a boat. The schematic included helped me wire it in after I traced the wires to the heater. It had a 4 terminal block and the original had a 3 terminal block. The terminal numbers were not the same between new and old. It works perfectly. The price was very reasonable for an electronic component made in America!

Great camper thermostat
We used this in our cabover camper to replace the mechanical spring wire unit. This unit is so much nicer! Works fine with our built in gas heater and controls the temperature much better than our old unit.
