Just What I Wanted
I've had the Uniden phone for quite a while. The old handset became unusable due to a faulty center control button. The handset I purchased works like a new one. I'm very happy with it.

great phone

Uniden tru9480 5.8 ghz cordless telephone
I have two phone identical to the set of four I purchased here on e bay. Now I have phones every place I turn, I love it. The Uniden phones are excellent. My home is 1700 square feet and I have no trouble getting a signal at any of the extensions that are connected with the base. The 5.8 mhz is very powerful and the battery off the hook lasts several days. (though in my home the phones get hung up practically immediately. The phone has every conceivable feature you could want on any phone and the hands free feature using the external speaker works wonderfully,,,, The sound is clear and the reception is very good. I can put the phone in the middle of the room and a room full of people can speak to the caller at once without having to move at all. I called the 1 800 number late one ... I purchased this used phone set about two months now, I have not used all of it's features and don't plan to use them. I like that it came with 3 handsets, call screening, answer machine, caller ID and can store up to 100 caller ID numbers if I don't use the phonebook feature. The speakerphone works well and I can hear very clearly when conversing with others. Over the years 2 have gone "west" necessitating the new purchases. The only other expense has been replacement of the battery in several units after 4-5 years.
