    Perfect for seniors

    In as much as I am an advanced age senior I find this guitar to be the perfect size for playing. The fact that it is a nylon string/classical guitar also gives me the neck room to chord and fret easily. I highly recommend it to any senior currently playing, or those looking for an activity that is life enhancing and yet challenging enough to fill up a great amount of leisure time. This is just a great guitar. The size is perfect for travel. Yamaha is simply a great guitar builder and this is my 4th one. The other 3 are still here, but I tend to play this one most of the time for the reasons I mentioned.

    Great travel guitar. Quality at an affordable price.

    This Yamaha classical guitar is sold as a 'student' guitar but it's also a great travel size instrument. It's affordable, stays in tune, intonates well and has a great full body sound even though its a 3/4 size guitar. The nylon strings are easier on the fingers than steel strings and are great for someone just starting out. This one arrived with smooth fret ends and played perfectly right out of the box. Yamaha is one of best quality guitar brands, this one proves it.

    Great beginner’s guitar

    I recently purchased a b-stock CGS103A as an alternative to a full-size classical guitar for a student with a slight build. The width of the neck is about perfect for smaller hands and the nylon strings are much easier on the fingers. The build seems pretty decent, although definitely not perfect. The glue seems a little sloppy and most of the frets needed to be sanded. After some string height adjustment, the guitar plays well and has a less boomy sound than a larger guitar (the thinner body is also nice for handling). Really all these need (as with any new guitar) is a decent initial setup and they become something less intimidating to the beginning player than a steel string acoustic. I’ve had decent luck with Yamaha guitars over the years and recommend them as first purchases because ...
